How would you form a government?

The upcoming elections on Wednesday, 29 May 2024, are likely to result in a hung parliament where no single party secures an outright majority. This will necessitate the formation of a coalition. What might this coalition look like?

Following the official announcement of the election results by the Independent Electoral Commission, the Chief Justice will schedule the first session of the National Assembly. It is during this session that a President will be elected from among the assembly members.

The President must be elected by a majority vote. If no candidate wins a majority in the initial round, the candidate(s) with the fewest votes will be eliminated, and voting will continue in subsequent rounds until a candidate achieves a majority.

With 400 seats in the National Assembly, a candidate needs at least 201 votes to be elected President.

The table below shows the projected number of seats that each party may secure in the National Assembly, based on the latest polling results.

Election results were announced on 1 June 2024, and table below reflects the actual seat allocation.

Select the parties you would like to include in your coalition and track your progress.
